Ty's Take
A grizzly working the country south of town is a reminder that we live in a place where the wild still has first claim on the land, and it changes how you think about everything else—your evening walk, your kid's summer camp, the way a rancher has to move cattle now. The bear's there because the ecosystem's working the way it's supposed to, which is good news for the high country and bad news for anyone who thought we could wall ourselves off from what lives out there. There's no moral to draw, no easy answer. Just the fact that we share this valley with something older and bigger than our subdivisions and our recreation app, and that's worth sitting with for a minute before we get back to the business of the day.
