Ty's Take
Carol Ann Knapp Foreman was the kind of person this valley needed—someone who showed up and stayed, who understood that a life well-lived around here meant working with your hands and your heart both. The loss of someone like that hits different in a town of 112,000, where you're likely to see the same faces at the Mesilla Valley Mall or out past the pecan groves, where roots run deep whether you're farming or teaching or raising a family. The obituaries in a small city tell you something the metro papers never will: they tell you who kept things running, who mattered to the people around them, and what kind of community we're trying to hold together while everything grows and changes around us. That's worth remembering, especially on a slow week when there's not much else to hang onto.
